“We thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to literally give them a voice in the score?’ And so, we put together a children’s choir and had kids sing on the score.” He continued: “Another element in terms of the show that we wanted to add – John and Dana and I talked about this early on – one of the principal themes of the show is empowering children and giving them a voice. “The music plays on this a lot, this steady ticking clock element that moves us through the story as we learn new things about our characters and the story.” Lanier said: “I think the core of the story is about uncovering the truth and lots of times in life there are lots of hidden truths.
